Inspired Word, Final Authority

🕊 God✝ Jesus📖 Scripture⛪ Response

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God. It is not merely a human book containing wisdom about God; it is God's own revelation of Himself to humanity, breathed out by the Holy Spirit through human authors (2 Timothy 3:16-17). As such, it is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

Inspired and Trustworthy

The Scriptures are without error in all that they affirm. God superintended the process of its writing so that the authors recorded exactly what He intended — in their own words, personalities, and literary styles — yet without error or contradiction. This does not mean the Bible is a science textbook, but where it speaks, it speaks truly.

Living and Active

The Bible is not a dead letter but a living word. Hebrews 4:12 describes it as living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. Through regular reading, study, and meditation on Scripture, believers are transformed, equipped, and encouraged. The Holy Spirit illuminates the text, making its timeless truths personally applicable to every generation.

Our Rule of Faith

As members of the Churches of Christ tradition, we have historically embraced the principle: Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent. We strive to pattern our worship, doctrine, and practice on the New Testament church — not as a legalistic rule, but as a sincere effort to honor God and maintain unity among His people.
