One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe in one God — the eternal Creator of all things, who exists as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is the doctrine of the Trinity, a mystery that lies at the heart of the Christian faith. Though one in essence, each person of the Godhead is distinct and plays a unique role in creation, redemption, and sanctification.
God the Father is the ultimate source of all things. He is sovereign, holy, and loving — a Father who is intimately involved in the lives of His children. He sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:17). His love is steadfast and His faithfulness endures to all generations (Psalm 100:5).
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the Word who became flesh (John 1:14). He is fully God and fully human — the only Savior of the world. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He accomplished redemption for all who believe. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, sent by the Father and the Son to dwell within believers. He convicts the world of sin, guides us into truth, produces spiritual fruit in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23), and gives gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. He is our Counselor, Comforter, and Advocate.
Deuteronomy 6:4 — Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Matthew 28:19 — Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
John 4:24 — God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
