At the Springfield Church of Christ we believe that Christianity was never meant to be dull, boring or irrelevant.  God intended for His church to be a dynamic, caring, friendly, and authentic family of believers.  We value authenticity and strive to be real with one another and with God.  We are not a perfect church, but rather a gathering of people who are endeavoring to become more like Christ in words and actions.

It is our passion to communicate the Word of God clearly, creatively, and effectively and to share the stories and principles of the Bible so that people’s lives may be impacted and changed. We hope you'll join us Sunday for a service to see for yourself what we're all about. You can expect:

  • No dress code.  You'll find business casual and dresses are as acceptable as jeans. We’re about authenticity—not image—so come as you are.
  • People are friendly and welcoming—come early to check in
your kids.  Kids at SCC are divided by age group. Each room is set up with your child in mind to maximize their experience! SCC wants this to be the best hour of their week!
  • While you enjoy a worship service designed for

you, your children will enjoy an experience

        designed just for them.

  • There’s a variety of God-focused instrumental music, a practical and clear message from the Bible, communion, and an opportunity to give
an offering.  It’s all centered around God!

SCC is a place to discover, explore, and experience God’s grace through a relationship with Jesus. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know a lot about the Bible—we’re growing together!

  A Note From the Minister

Welcome!

I’m really glad that you visited our website - this site is your one-stop for everything SCC. If you live in or are visiting Springfield or Clark County, we'd love to have you join us for church this weekend to see what God is doing at SCC.  We see your visit as an opportunity for you to find out what Springfield Church of Christ, and Christianity, is all about. And it’s an opportunity for us to connect with you and invite you to be our guest this Sunday!  I am passionate about connection with direction - connecting people to Jesus and one another.

You’ll quickly discover that we’re a church anyone can come to. No matter what’s in your past or what you’re dealing with in your life right now, no matter what you know or don’t know about the Bible . . . you are welcome at SCC.  We have opportunities for every member of your household to enjoy meaningful activities and dynamic worship.  At SCC you will have many different ways to encounter God through Bible study and fellowship with other people just like you - real people living real life in the power of Jesus Christ.

I have the privilege and responsibility of leading people into a deeper connection with God.  Our vision, however, is for SCC to become a church where that message is also shared in our offices, our neighborhoods, our kid’s sports’ leagues, in the gym, on the golf course…in short, in our everyday lives 24-7.

You matter to God and us!

Bill Warax, senior minister
